August 4, 2009 - OK!! I have finally finished updating my website for now. I have added photos for two additional air shows I attended this year. The first one was Wings Over Wayne at Goldsboro, NC. The other one as at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC. I had a great time at both of them getting lots of good shots at both. I was using my new Nikon D-200 and my new Sigma 28-300 zoom lens. The 300mm, which is actually 450mm with a Nikon DX DSLR, was plenty long and handholdable. Got some great shots at both events.

I have also updated my camera bag with the latest removals and additions.

Enjoy! More to come!!

August 2, 2009 - I finally decided to do some updates to my personal web pages. I have replaced the feature photo I have had for year with a recent photo I took at the Marine Corps Air Station Air Show in Cherry Point, NC in June of this year. Some more news, I was using my NEW Nikon D-200!! Well, I got it last year so it isn't new but it still feels new! I sold my D-70s through craigslist. Some bad news, while I was out of town for MCAS, I was robbed. Someone broke into my house and took my 40" TV, two laptops (one owned by me, the other owned by my employer), and my new camera bag that had three of my favorites lenses. The only reason why I still have my nice laptop and all of my best camera gear is because I had them all with me. Over the next few days I'll be adding more photos I took at MCAS and some others I took at the Wings Over Wayne Air Show in Goldsboro, NC also earlier this year.

January 11, 2006 - Sorry this is late, but on Christmas Day I was at my sister's house and her son was showing me the gifts he had gotten. Being a recent owner of a Nikon D70s, I was particularly interested in a digital camera his parents had given him. It was so small, lightweight, portable and had power. It was a Casio EX-S500 ELILIM 5Mp digital camera. I was so impressed, I went out and got me one the very next day! Now, don't get me wrong, I really, really love my new D70s, but this Casio is so portable, I can put it in my shirt pocket and take it everywhere I go! Actually, I have now gotten a LowePro belt-clip case for it so it resides right next to my cel phone!!

December 4, 2006 - Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I updated any part of this web site. Well, a few things have happened to warrant some updates. First, after almost a year of unemployment, I finally have been hired!! Read all about my new job on the Personal Information page if you are interested.

Secondly, and almost more important, I have finally moved into the Digital Photography Age!! And in a BIG way!! I recently became the proud owner of a Nikon D70s! I got the package that included the 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 G IF (AF-S DX). A really sweet lens. It will probably replace my 17-35mm Sigma Ultra Wide zoom. Read about my impressions of the D70s on the Camera Bag page.

Hopefully, since shooting digital compared to film is mucho cheaper (film and processing costs), I should be updating this web site with more photos soon!

May 2, 2000 - Posted information on my new job on my Personal Info page. Thanks for believing in me, Vision Software!!

March 28, 2000 - Since Nikon's replacement to the DataView software, called Photo Secretary, has now been on the market for quite a while, I have decided to make the old DataView software freely available for download from my web site. To find the link, first go to the Photo Gallery. From there click on the link to "Take a Peek Inside my Camera Bag". From there, scroll down to the bottom and click on the link to read my review of the DataLink System. On the index page for my DataLink review there is now a link to download the DataView software. It is in PKZIP format. Enjoy!!!

March 20, 2000 - My job status changed so I have modified my Personal Info page and made a copy of my resume available.

February 24, 2000 - I finally have finished the transition mentioned in the previous note. To download a larger version of any image, just click on it. After downloaded, to return to the previous page, click on your browser's "BACK" button. The exceptions to this rule are 1) the photos of items in my Camera Bag and 2) the header photo on the index page of the Datalink review section. The images of the camera bag items are already in the larger size and I didn't save a larger version of the other photo. I have also updated the information on Sharp Electronic Organizer availability in my review of the Nikon Datalink system for the N90/N90s camera systems.

August 3, 1999 - My entire website is in transition. I am changing the method in which I will provide links to larger versions of the photos on my website. I used to used a line of text which included a hyperlionk to the larger image plus an indication as to how large the image is, to give the browser an indication as to how long it may take to download. I am changing that method to this, the image itself will be a hyperlink to the larger version, and the alternate text for the image will contain the size of the file which will be downloaded. So, if you see a photo which does not have a text description under it to download a larger version of the image, just point your moust to the image itself and click!

July 7, 1999 - NEW FEATURE PHOTO! This is Billy Curry, Master Longboarder from Wrightsville Beach, NC. You can really tell from the cut of Billy's muscles that he is also an "Ironman", ie, he competes in Triathalon competitions. What I like about this shot is how you can see "air" underneath his lead foot.

June 22, 1999 - New Feature Photo! Yet another shot of my cat Betty. Maybe I should just add a new category to my gallery of pet photos. I have a few of my Basset Gracie also.

June 21, 1999 - A few weekends ago, I shot my first roll of hummer shots for the year. I think I got several pretty decent shots in just that one roll. Take a look and let me know what you think!

June 14, 1999 - New Feature Photo! Yet another photo of an extreme closeup of my cat Betty. I have also expanded my collection of comet photos to include a set of photos I took of Comet Hale-Bopp. Let me know what you think!

June 9, 1999 - New Feature Photo! A new shot of my cat Betty, a super closeup! Something new with the Feature Photo, just click on it to download a larger version! And I have decided to keep past featured photos around. Click on the new hyperlink on the Main Page to view them. Large versions available for downloading! Also, I finally got around to putting in a few of the good Hummingbird shots of 1997 in. Lastly, a new picture in the Flowers section and a new one in the Closeups section. Enjoy!!

May 25, 1999 - Well, my ISP has been down for 5 of the last 7 days so I jumping ship. I am now with AT&T Worldnet. My new EMail address is zsessions@worldnet.att.net. I've been "joecool" on every ISP I have been with for the last 6 years, so this will be different. I'll miss "joecool". Also, since I moved my web site, I have reset the visit counter.

May 20, 1999 - Added photo of my camera setup for photographing hummingbirds in the "How I Did It" in the Hummingbirds section of the Photo Gallery. Also replaced the closeup of the Pussy Willow with an extreme closeup of a US Dime. 1:1!! Impressive!

May 19, 1999 - Added self-portrait in Personal Info section. Added a few new photos in the Closeups section. Changed the Feature Photo on the Home Page to a shot of my cat, Betty, in "yawn mode", a frequent mode she is in!!!

May 11, 1999 - Implemented hit counter courtesy of www.fxweb.com.

May 7, 1999 - Changed web design to a Frames based web using FrontPage 98. Removed some flower pixs and added a new group of photos from an Airshow I attended in 1996.

April 1, 1999 - Moved web site to www.wil.net/~joecool (NO LONGER CURRENT. SEE ABOVE!)

Thanks for visiting my World Wide Web site!
