NFL Predictions 2002

To see how I did last year, go here!!

Woo Hoo!!! A record breaking prediction year for me! Six year highs in coming within a game of the final regular season team records, division winners, and overall division finish! Records in bold black were exactly as I predicted, blue were within a game, and the rest were miserably off. Bold black team names mean that team finished in the division as I predicted. Interestingly enough, if I had flipped Cincy and Baltimore, I would have had both teams' records exactly right. What was I thinking?? Within a couple days I'll compare these results with several national magazine predictions.

I correctly predicted the won-lost records of 3 of 32 teams (25 of 215 over six years). I came within one game of correctly predicting the won-lost record of another 11 of 32 teams (51 of 215 over six years). Which means that I came within one game of the actual won-lost records of 14 of 32 (76 of 215 over six years).

I correctly predicted the divisional finish of 15 of 32 (69 of 215 over six years).

I correctly picked 5 out of 8 division winners (14 of 44 over six years).

I correctly predicted 7 out of 12 playoff participants (49 of 84 over six years).
