My hip pain has forced me to end the marathon here. I'm an abject loser for not meeting my 36 hour goal, but at least I set a new career high for consecutive hours awake at 27! I suck! But now, I sleep! :-P~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ground Rules
1)Start marathon at 9pm EST, end it at the stroke of nine am two days later, for a total of 36 straight hours.
2)Each episode is about 40 minutes long if you skip the credits. So I can watch 3 episodes about every two hours if I never took a break. That means I can watch the complete 2nd and 3rd seasons in 30 hours, which gives me 6 hours of 5-10 minute breaks between episodes.
3)I have to post at least one episode commentary at the top of each hour. Some hours will have two episode commentaries. Failure to post at the top of an hour I was sleeping and will forever go down in the Internet annals as an abject failure.
4)Diet Pepsi amounts are marathon totals, not per hour.

Moron of the EP award: Pete. Hasn't this idiot ever seen a Jekel and Hyde movie? (it's too much to hope that he can read) He also has a lot of nerve calling Buffy "Manic depressive" ... given his own gross emotional problems.
General Remarks: Definitely some male bashing in this ep. The only male who comes out of this ep unscathed is Xander, and he's an idiot.
Platt was "pureed" but his corpse was still holding a cigarette?
NEVER rattle a werewolf's cage!
Is anything better than Giles getting shot in the ASS with a dartgun? :-P Also great was WereOz jumping on Pete.
Vamp Myth: I'm thinking that the vampire healing is the only reason Angel's mind returns. A human would remain insane, I believe.
Honestly: Oz (as he tries to leave and Willow follows): "Okay, you know the thing where you bale in the middle of a conversation? I have to do that. It's dramatic, I know, but it's a necessary guy thing." This is a PERFECT example of the kind of thing I was looking for. No real human being would ever say this.
Funny line of the ep: Giles: "How long, exactly, did you rest your eyes for?"
Xander: "Not long. A little now. A little then. And Oz was here in the morning when I - uh -."
Giles: "WOKE UP!"
3.5 "Homecoming"

Moron of the EP award: Cordy! It took Buffy to remind her that a telephone is more useful than a spatula! MORON!! LOL
General Remarks: This is another well conceived, well written, and well acted ep! The Buffy / Cordy relationship was always neat to watch and here it is at its finest. :-P
Why would Trick let just two humans drag his ass away like that? Does he care about cops? Spike didn't? Could he toss two humans around like ragdolls? I love Trick and obviously the writers had to get him to the mayor's office without devoting much screentime to the trip, but this doesn't look right.

So no one in the school gym heard the MACHINE GUN FIRE elsewhere in the school?

General Remarks: Yet another instant classic in a season full of them!
It was great to see Ethan again, and Synder in this different light was very amusing.
Anyone else think that Ethan hid himself rather quickly considering the fact that Buffy was RIGHT ON HIS ASS when chasing him through the crates?
The tension between Xander and Willow is great.
Gotta give the writers props for putting babies in jeopardy.
I thought Trick said he wanted to see what Buffy had? Instead he tosses Giles in the water and then slinks away.

General Remarks: The Iron Maiden really pulled a great con. I saw it coming the first time I saw this but it was still very well done/
Do you think this episode aired before the "Witchblade" comic was published? I don't know how old that comic is.
The intervention scene where everyone confronts Buffy about Angel is very powerful. Even more powerful is the speech Giles gives to Buffy after dismissing everyone else.
How many times HAS Giles been knocked out in this series?
Willow, bursting at the seams from her Xander secret, is really funny this ep.

Moron of the EP award: Spike. He finally wised up at the end of the ep, though.
General Remarks: Any Spike ep rates higher than Spike free eps and this is no exception. The Buffy high score subplot is a little tedious though. Didn't we go through this whining in "What's My Line?" parts 1 and 2?
Spike's miming behind Joyce while Angel watched was hysterical!
Willow in trouble works EVERY TIME.
That Cordy graveyard gag at the very end was really cute!
Vamp Myth: So vampires can get drunk? Don't you need a circulatory system to get drunk? Joss has made it clear time and again that vampire hearts do NOT beat.
Spike: "I said I still got an unlife, you know?" What exactly is an "unlife"?
Honestly: Cordy: "You're having too many 'ors' pick one!"

2) Willow: "I'll do your spell for you but there will be no bottle in the face and there will be no HAVING of any kind with me!"
3.9 "The Wish"

Moron of the EP award: Cordy. I didn't think she was EVER going to get the point (no pun intended) about scary no Buffy world!
General Remarks: So we see Anya for the first time! Speaking of that ilk, I have to say that the woman who plays Harmony is really great. She really shines in Season 4 but even in these two seasons I've watched tonight you can see her comedic talents.
The Master's plan is hideously LAME. All that work and effort to have a machine suck blood from a person? The blood cools quickly, and you still need the manpower to round of the victims, so what is the freaking point? I can't believe someone of his intellect could do no better than this.

3.10 "Amends"

General Remarks: Well, if I can't go the distance, what better ep to leave it on than this one, where The First Evil is introduced? Considering that The First is Buffy's most formidable foe yet, and will be her last foe, let us end this madness here.

Honestly: No examples. There are great examples of what I wanted later this season but I'm not going to last that long. >:-#
