Time and again I have tried "from scratch" recipes for red cabbage but none of them turn out as good
as the way my Mom made it. Besides, it's easy ... so why fight it?
1 (1 lb.) jar prepared red cabbage
5 pieces of bacon
Fry bacon until nice and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Drain all but about 1 tablespoon bacon fat from the frying pan. Add the red cabbage and heat.
Crumble in bacon and stir.
