Magic Cookie Bars

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup dried cranberries (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 for a glass dish). In a 13x9x2-inch pan melt butter in oven.

Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over butter; pour condensed milk over crumbs. Top with remaining ingredients; press down firmly with a fork.

Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Chill if desired. Cut into bars. Store at room temperature.

Possible variations:
Substitute chocolate chips or nuts with candy-coated pieces, raisins, mini-marshmallows or butterscotch chips.

Makes 24 to 36 bars.
