Whether you are just starting on your yoga
path, or have been practicing for years, let Lorien help you explore
the many benefits
of yoga!
 Lorien
Neargarder cultivated her deep body awareness at an early age through
dance and fitness instruction. After years of aggressive exercise
(and the resulting injuries) to stay in shape, she found yoga as
an alternate, more compassionate approach to fitness, both within
and without.
Since 1999, she has studied with yoga
teachers of various backgrounds, including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bikram,
Tri-Yoga and Vinyasa. She uses all of these methods in her teaching,
but is primarily a Vinyasa
teacher. Lorien has completed her 200-hour yoga teacher certification
program through Yoga Educational Seminars (YES).
Lorien's classes also include practices
in breathing, meditation and chanting. The result is a complete
exercise for the mind, body and spirit. She approaches teaching
from the student’s perspective, with compassion always in
mind. She uses touch as both a healing and instructive tool.
"Yoga Building Blocks" is an
instructional DVD made by Lorien. This video walks the beginning student
through breath and postures in 3 different 15-minute sessions,
and a 5-minute final relaxation session. The sessions can be practiced
individually or strung together for a complete class. DVDs are available
in class for $10, or contact Lorien for other purchasing arrangements.
