Konrad Lorenz

 There is no faith
which has never yet been broken
except that of a truly faithful dog.

Christopher Marley
No one appreciates
the very special genius
of your conversation
as a dog does.

Groucho Marx
Outside of a dog,
a book is man's best friend.
Inside a dog,
it's too dark to read.

Bertrand Russell
No matter how eloquently
a dog may bark,
he cannot tell you
that his parents were poor,
but honest.

"Fluff" Cowan
(Tiger Woods' former caddy)
Money isn't comfort.
Comfort is love,
a good bed,  caring friends
and a happy dog.

Haitian Proverb
A dog is a dog unless he is facing you;
then he is Mr. Dog.

Robert Benchly
A dog teaches a boy fidelity,
perseverance,
and to turn around three times
before lying down.

Konrad Lorenz
The fidelity of a dog is a precious gift
demanding no less binding moral responsibilities
than the friendship of a human being.
The bond with a true dog is
as lasting as the ties of this earth can ever be.

George Pelster
[A dog's smile] differs from that of a human's
in that it is generally more subtle,
and genuinely more honest.

Wealth can buy the most expensive dog,
but only love can make him wag his tail.

Fear not the size of the dog that bites,
rather the size of the bite of the dog.

A definition of love?
Love is the look in your dog's eyes
when they stare at your face.

Anne Tyler
Ever consider what they must think of us?
I mean, here we come back from a grocery store
with the most amazing haul --
chicken, pork, half a cow.
They must think we're the greatest hunters on earth!

Joe Weinstein
My dog is worried about the economy
because Alpo is up 99 cents a can.
That's almost $7.00 in dog money.

Josh Billings
A dog is the only thing on earth

that loves you more than you love yourself.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of the special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All of the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks in the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

He is your friend,
your partner,
your defender,
your dog.
You are his life,
his love,
his leader.
He will be yours,
faithful and true,
to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him
to be worthy of such devotion.
