1. How much weight will the dollies hold?
The casters are conservatively rated at 300 lbs. each. Each dolly
will carry 1200 to 1500 lbs. The set of four is rated at 6000 lbs.
2. What are the casters made of?
The wheels are hard plastic. Unlike rubber wheels,
they will not "flat spot" over time. The attachment pins are
1/2" inch steel attached with a grade 5 nut and lock washer.
3. Do the casters have wheel locks on them?
No. Setting and releasing 16 individual locks
is very difficult. We find that the weight of a car on the dollies
does not require wheel locks.
4. What is the overall construction of the
dolly? The sidebars are .090 steel
tube; the crossbars are 1/8", 2 inch by 2 inch angle iron. The wheel
pan is 20-gauge steel. They are MIG welded and industrial finish powder
coated.
5. What are the dolly dimensions? The
Standard Dollies are 14" wide by 17" long. The wheel opening (area
with the pan) is 10" wide. The Large Dollies have a 14" wheel
opening. The Jumbo Dollies have a 30" wheel opening.
6. How do the jack stand attachments work?
They bolt onto the side braces of the dolly.
There are two positions. The narrow position is for a 3-ton stand.
The wider position is for the larger 6-ton stand. The spacing is for
a standard Allied brand jack stand. Most stands are approximately
the same dimensions.
7. Can the dollies be modified for different
dimension stands?Yes. Simply drill
two 5/16 holes in the side brace to relocate the jack stand support.
8. I see "flat plate" dollies advertised,
what is the difference between them and yours? Our
Car Dollies have sidebars. When you push a car sideways, the tires
won't slip off the dolly.
9. Can I use the Car Dollies on my boat trailer?
Yes. They are excellent for moving tandem axle boat trailers.
10. My car has large tires in the back and
smaller tires in the front. Can I mix and match the dollies?
Yes. Dollies can be ordered in pairs to fit your tires.
