A Nov. 1996 search of the International Geneological Index for Germany turned up a christening record for Leonore Reiling. She was christened 14, Nov 1858 in Katholisch, Rietberg, Westfalen, Preussen. Could this be Eleanora? Possibly, if 1853 was misread as 1858 when records were transcribed. She died in 1926 in New York ?.⁽⁴¹⁾ Five Massinger children (including Anna, Helene, and Wilhelm) are listed together on the passenger list for the DeRuyter, sailing from Antwerp and arriving in N.Y. on May 15, 1882. The only person on the list who could be their mother is a Babette Marssinger (sic), age 30.
