Isobel DOUGLAS(20) was born about
1791 in Roxburgh County?, Scotland. Isobel is shown as born in county in 1841
Kelso census. Birthdate based on age given on that census. She was married
to Henry STOCKWELL.(52)
Marriage inferred from fact that Henry and Isobel are listed as the parents
of three children in the Scottish church records. Children were:
Elizabeth STOCKWELL, Henrietta STOCKWELL,
David STOCKWELL.

EVAN(53)
(42) was born about 1840. Her birth date is based on her age at death,
though the 1851 Abersychan census suggests she may have been born 2 or 3 yrs.
earlier. She died on 5 Dec 1891 in Blaenavon, Monmouthshire, Wales.
(54) She was buried on 10 Dec 1891 in St. Peters Churchyard, Blaenavon.
(42) According to Rosie Stierwalt, this wife
is the servant, 14 year old Eliza Evans, who is shown living with the Moses Witchell
family in Trevethin in the 1851 census. At the time of her death she was living
at 3 Burford Street, Blaenavon. She was married to
Moses WITCHELL after 1886. This date is based on the death of his first
wife in April 1887.

G. FRAZER(40) was born in Ireland?.
(40) When William Frazer died in 1901, this
daughter was in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland. She was also there
in 1904. Parents: William Fitzgerald FRAZER and
UNKNOWN.She was married to Unknown LAW.
Archibald
FRAZER was born in 1858 in Sacramento, CA.(55)
He died on 4 Jan 1879 in Sacramento, CA.
(56) He was buried in Sacramento City Cemetery.
(55) Parents: William Fitzgerald FRAZER
and Julia UNKNOWN.
Archibald
FRAZER died about 13 Oct 1918. This information is based on the index to
the sacramento Union which shows Oct 14, 1918 (pg. 4) as the date of Archibald's
obituary. Parents: Edward F. FRAZER and
Ida WILSON.
Edward
F. FRAZER(40)
(57)(58) was born in 1862/63
in Sacramento, CA.(59)
(60) He died on 14 Jul 1910 in Sacramento, CA.
(58) He was buried on 17 Jul 1910 in East Lawn Cemetery, Sacramento,
CA..(58) In the 1879/80 Sacramento City
Directory, Edward is listed as a student at Sacramento Business College. His
obituary (which includes misinformation about his father's death) suggests he
may have also attended St. Ignatius College in San Francisco around this time.
In 1901 he inherited the lumber business from his father William. Based on Edward's
obituary, he may have been managing the business for many years before his father's
death. Edward also inherited half of his father's lot in the Sacramento City
Cemetary, but did not use it.
At the time of his death Edward was living at 1605 P Street and was a charter
member of Sacramento parlor of the Native Sons and of Sacramento Lodge, No. 6,
B. P. O. E. Burial services of the Catholic Church were conducted at Cathedral
of the Blessed Sacrament.
Edward left everything to his wife. Parents: William Fitzgerald
FRAZER and Julia UNKNOWN.He was married to
Ida WILSON. Children were: Gladys FRAZER,
Archibald FRAZER.

Margaret
Jane FRAZER(59) was born about 1847
in Ireland.(61) She died on 16 May 1880
in San Francisco, CA.(41)
(62) Paula Greenwood's notes say that Margaret and two children (William
Edward and Mary Ann) died during an epidemic, but I have found no evidence of
an epidemic in San Francisco during this time period. She was buried in Oddfellows
Cemetary, San Francisco, Ca..(32)
(63) Although her husband's pension records
indicate Margaret was buried in Oddfellows Cemetary, I could not find her name
on the Oddfellows Cemetery Association Register of Removals; however, this list
contains only 12,000 to 15,000 names, while over 25,000 bodies were actually
removed. The first record of Margaret I can find is in the 1870 U. S. Census
for Sacramento where she is listed as Maggie Frazier living with her sister Mary
Ann Quinton and Mary Ann's family. Based on the location of birth for Mary Ann's
children, Mary Ann must have come to Sacramento from New York between 1867 and
1869. I suspect that Margaret came with her. Parents:
William Fitzgerald FRAZER and UNKNOWN.She was
married to Robert WHITTEN on 3 Aug 1871 in Sacramento,
CA.(32)(64)
(65) Children were:
John George WHITTEN, Margaret Pauline WHITTEN,
Robert Charles WHITTEN, William Edward WHITTEN
, Mary Ann? WHITTEN.
Mary
Ann FRAZER(59)
(57)(66) was born in 1844 in
Ireland.(59)
(55) She died on 18 Sep 1883 in San Francisco ?.
(67) She was buried in Sacramento City Cemetery.
(55) Based on the birth places of her children, as listed in the 1870
Sacramento census, Mary Ann and her husband came to Sacramento from New York
sometime between 1867 and 1869. Entries in the Sacramento and San Francisco
City Directories suggest that the family moved to San Francisco around 1874.
Parents: William Fitzgerald FRAZER and
UNKNOWN.She was married to William QUINTON.
Children were: William E. QUINTON,
Margaret Ann QUINTON, Grace QUINTON,
Thomas QUINTON, William Frazer QUINTON,
Fannie QUINTON, Bessie QUINTON.
Nellie
FRAZER was born about Nov 1860 in Sacramento, CA.
(55) Date of birth calculated from information on tombstone which
though weathered appears to place Nellie's age at death at 3 yrs. 11 mos. and
23 days. She died on 12 Nov 1864 in Sacramento, CA. She was buried in Sacramento
City Cemetery.(55) Parents:
William Fitzgerald FRAZER and Julia UNKNOWN.
Thomas
G. FRAZER(57)
(68)(65) was born in 1843 in
Ireland.(55) He died on 5 Aug 1879.
(69) Microfilm of obituary is very hard to
read, but does list father as William F. Frazer. He was buried in Sacramento
City Cemetery.(55) Thomas first appears
in the 1860 Sacramento census as a laborer living with William F. Frazer and
family. I need to check city directories prior to 1866, but after that date
he is listed in the Sacramento Directory as a drayman and later he assumes various
duties in the CPRR machine shop. He is not listed in the Sacramento directory
in 1872, 1873 or 1874.
Thomas was a witness at his sister Margret's wedding to Robert Whitten.
Parents: William Fitzgerald FRAZER and
UNKNOWN.
William
(Willie) J. FRAZER was born about Sep 1856 in Sacrmento, CA.
(55) Birth calculated on basis of information on tombstone which says
Willie was 3 yrs. 5 mos. and 23 days when he died He died on 28 Feb 1860 in
Sacramento, CA.(55) He was buried in
Sacramento City Cemetery.(55) Parents:
William Fitzgerald FRAZER and
Julia UNKNOWN.
William
Fitzgerald FRAZER(70)
(40)(71)
(57)(68)
(59)(72)
(55) was born on 3 Sep 1821 in Ireland.
(55) He died on 2 Mar 1901 in Sacramento, CA.
(40) He was buried in Sacramento City Cemetery.
(55) A short biography of William Frazer written in 1890 says that
he was the proprietor of one of the leading lumber yards of Sacramento, occupying
two lots on the corner of Fifth and L streets. City directories indicate it
was on the SE corner. According to his will, William also owned Lot 5 in the
block bounded by O and P, 10th and 11th Streets and the West half of Lot 3 in
the block bounded by N and O, 9th and 10th Streets. His residence at the time
of his death was 916 N Street. When he died in 1901, his estate was worth $84,
596.
According to the biography and his obituary William came to New York from Ireland
in 1846, and to California in 1851. There is a W. F. Fraser on the passenger
list for the steamer Isthmus arriving in San Francisco June 6, 1851 from Panama.
The trip from Panama took 22 and 1/2 days.
William was involved in mining for 3 years before becoming engaged in the lumber
trade. He was listed in the 1854/55 Sacramento City Directory as an employee
of lumber merchant Patrick McMannis and in the 1856/57 Sacramento City Directory
as a lumber merchant, corner of I and 8th. (He is not in the 1855/56 Directory)
By 1868 his business was established on the corner of Fifth and L. The location
of his residence varied, and for 5 years, from 1874-1878, he lived in the Capital
Hotel. This move may coincide with the death/divorce/disappearance of his second
wife Julia. In 1874 and 1875, William was listed in the city directory as a
Capitalist.
William was naturalized on June 3rd 1867 in Sacramento. There does not appear
to have been a declaration of intent to naturalize.
According to his obituary, William was a member of the Exempt Firemen's Association.
Funeral services were performed by an official of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
William had at least three wives. Assignment of children is based on his will,
on information in the 1860 and 1870 Sacramento Censuses, and on tombstones in
the Frazer cemetery plot.
He was married to UNKNOWN. Children were:
Thomas G. FRAZER, Mary Ann FRAZER,
Margaret Jane FRAZER, Angelina G. FRAZER.

was married to Julia UNKNOWN about 1855 in Sacramento?.
