Welcome friends and painters to my world of Whimsical folk art. I have been painting since my youngest son went to kindergarten - eighteen years ago. I wanted to find something to do with my time and a neighbor suggested that I try some decorative painting. When I began painting, it was supposed to be just a hobby. Eventually I ran out of room in my home for the finished pieces. Then my family and friends ran out of room. Finally, a friend encouraged me to try selling the pieces in bazaars and craft shows.
Painting has turned out to be an ideal pastime for me. As the wife of a military man, for years my lifestyle include a lot of moving. Painting helped me meet new people and develop strong friendships whenever we moved. Eight years ago we "retired" and moved to Missouri to be closer to my parents.
About six years ago, I started designing pattern packets. In 1998, my first book Homespun Seasons was published followed by Homespun Holidays, Homespun Americana, and Homespun Harvest.
