RASSM
rec.arts.sf.starwars.misc
- Why the "misc"? Who knows. Once you start discussing the movie's details
with others, it's hard to pull yourself away. Read the FAQ first and be
very
cautious about bringing up a topic that may very well have already been
discussed to death.
Official
RASSM Homepage - Semi-active headquarters for the newsgroup, worth
a visit. Now in new "played-out-hip-hop-theme" flavor!
Shaven
Wookie, Ltd. - Sort of the parent web site for the ORHP. Includes
editorials, humor, and other stuff.
The
Unofficial RASSM Page - Mainly an archive of RASSM past.
RASSM
Picture Page - Jill-Marie's site containing an extensive pictorial
index of the FBI's most wanted fugit-- oh wait, it's just RASSMers, semi-RASSMers,
and ex-RASSMers. Take a gander to see what some of the more well-known
members look like, but if you're like me, you'll just end up noticing what
celebrity everyone bears a resemblance to (there's Edward G. Robinson,
Al Gore, that one guy from Limp Bizkit...)
Object
at Rest: RASSM Blogroll - Kim Le's listing of RASSMer/semi-RASSMer/ex-RASSMer blogs, and only blogs. If you're into that sorta thing.
usher's
RASSM pages - A bit of an encyclopedia/almanac of RASSMers, with
listings of their web sites, locales, and birthdates. Unfortunately, with
no one ever bothering to update their info, most of it is very much out
of date (well, except for the birthdates).
Humor
The
Chopped-Off Hands of Star Wars - Pretty self-explanatory. Obviously
a great idea for a site.
Mr.
T vs Darth Maul - Part of a plethora of "Mr. T vs Everything" pages,
a series of sometimes-hilarious cheap-and-shoddy cut-and-paste stories
that peaked in popularity a couple of years ago.
Pants
of the Mind's Eye - From the "So-stupid-and-crazy-but-funny" file,
which Star Wars seems to inspire a lot of. Probably gets old after a while,
though.
Star
Wars Pants - Yet another "Pants" page.

Misc
Episode
II fan art - Funny how the utterly ridiculous title
has managed to grow on most of us. Whoulda thunk? This entry was originally
added to highlight some of the fun retro B-movie artwork influenced by
the title:
Personal favorites: 1,
2,
3.
Fan Films at AtomFilms - Personally, I could do without any parodies of current pop culture trends (eg, Croc Hunter and American Idol), but the worst part of this showcase may be the inane "user reviews." In any case, here are some of the ones I've seen thus far that are either mildly amusing or just short of perfection:
A Green Hope, pretty good, but explain the ending to me?
Galactic Feud, the musical intro is too long, there's no "family portrait" intro, and the ending is horrible... but Tarkin's bit is funny, even if it doesn't sound at all like him.
Humphrey, short but well done.
Lloyd Stormtrooper (the redundant voiceover is the best part.
Pink Five, I guess she could've called Leia something much worse...
Womp Ratz Anthology, obligatory Beatles parody... the format could've more closely resembled the actual show, but the riffs on actual Beatles moments are good.
"I
Can Hold It...": Porkins Central - Yes, the portly pilot from Episode
IV has become quite the cult figure... perhaps because he was one of the
least likeliest to ever be one. Get info on the big guy, including correspondence
from actor Bill Hootkins his own self.
Rebelscum.com
- News and info on Star Wars toys.
Sega
Pod
Racer Arcade - Game info, tips, and secrets: learn how to stretch
that dollar(!)-per-game.
Sega
Star
Wars Trilogy Arcade - Likewise.
StarWars.com:
Ask the Jedi Council - A great section where various crew members
answer fans' questions. Also check out the "Q&A" column regularly found
in the Star Wars Insider magazine, where they explain away nagging
issues that fans have always wondered about.
StarWars.com:
Holiday
at the Fetts' - A flash animation originally presented in 2001.
More "cute" than funny.
StarWars.com:
Geonosian Toy Factory - 2002's edition, a little more to
my liking. Absolutely love the "Geonosian Local 32841" bit.
Star
Wars Force Graphics - A Japanese site featuring shiek techy wallpaper.
TheForce.net
- Best Star Wars news/resource site on the net. New items daily.
Two gripes: 1) Their tendency to refer to the Star Wars actors by their
character names in headlines (eg., "Admiral Piett to be honored as Hasty
Pudding Man of the Year," "Wedge and Boss Nass set to star in new NBC sitcom,"
"Queen Amidala arrested on shoplifting charge.") 2) The hyper-Star Wars-centric
attitude of things like when they report that a new blockbuster movie may
have a chance of possibly threatening to overtake some kind of record held
by a Star Wars movie. I think that Trade Fed guy said it best: "There's
no need to report that until there's something to report."
