Newsletter

Not much has changed for the moment - presently, we ourselves seem to be the news for the newsletter. With much huffing and puffing, Musical Mentors is beginning slowly to get under way. Please stay tuned to see what happens - we'd like to know, too. In order to better serve the public, we'd like to know what the public - that means YOU - thinks. Please send questions, comments, suggestions, and anything else you're interested in to any of the following addresses--- johndurant@earthlink.net rka-mt@att.net All messages will be forwarded to the right person, and answers will be forthcoming. And we appreciate any help you may be able to give us. The Director pro tem (and hopefully permanently) is Mr. John DuRant, familiar to Frederick residents as the "Old World Troubadour" of the Troubadour Show and known to the patrons of the Maryland Renaissance Festival as "Jonathan Strum." John is our chief boss and guilding light for this project. We wish to thank RK&A for supplying the webspace and sundry secretarial duties, and to thank the Medieval Traveler company for its miscellaneous support. We hope that this organization will be a credit to its sponsors. And the next issue of the newsletter will occur, when we finally have some interesting news. Best wishes from us all.

Music is part of our cultural heritage. Yet often the opportunity to sing and play musical instruments, to explore music in its many hobby and professional aspects, is limited by personal situations.

Within the Greater Frederick, Maryland area, Musical Mentors is being organized to increase the number of opportunities for children (and their families) to meet semi-professional and professional musicians in informal, unstructured situations and to explore their own talents and interests to the fullest in our large music heritage.
