Maude Harriet Lilly DuncanOn December 16, 1908 she was married to John Stewart Duncan, son of John Duncan and Robina Colville. They were the parents of Floyd Robert, Irene May, John Keith, and Richard Dean. Maude Harriet Lilly Duncan passed away in January, 1993. Below is an article written about her by her brother Jesse in the book, "Now and Then with Kropffs and Crums." Maude Lilly, raised in the rugged hills of Northern New Mexico, lived a rather sheltered and somewhat uneventful early life. However there were always parties and dances for the young folks and Maude was always to be found, together with a group of young friends, both boys and girls at these functions. Many life long friends were made there and many pleasant memories remain. Fishing trips and camping added to her enjoyment and a doting protective brother offered her the necessary help and protection for such trips. Later years the family moved to Colorado, where Maude met and married a fine young man, John Duncan. On a farm near Del Norte she raised her family of three fine sons Floyd and Keith of Del Norte and Dean of Durango and a lovely daughter, Mrs. Irene Hutchinson also of Durango. During this time, and still is, an active member of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron in 1933. Reference Wells, Ruth Crum (1974). Now and Then with Kropffs and Crums.
