Video
Production
Quality video production has always been expensive. So expensive in fact that I've found most projects could be produced on 16mm film for the same cost as "high end broadcast video".

If a client could not afford these costs s/he would have to make do with "industrial level" video. {3/4"~S-VHS~Hi8} While these formats would reduce production costs substantually, they never could deliver the "high quality" look.

With the advent of digital video, things have changed. Now those with budget restrictions can produce in digital video with a quality many say rivals Betacan SP.

Ron Walker Productions is happy to announce that it has added digital video to its many services. If you would like more information or a bid on your next project, just go to the home page and send an e-mail.

While this is a major step forward for industrial clients, I would not recommend it for entertainment type films. Not only is the resolution of film much better then tape, it is still film, with all the magic that its look imparts. However if your budget absolutely cannot afford film, then this could be a way to get your entertainment project finished.

We now shoot all our video with the JVC DV500. A most amazing camera that provides image quality equal to cameras costing three times as much. It actually stores an image with more resolution than Betacam SP, the broadcast standard.

Part of the magic is computer editing. With the video always in a digital form, there is no loss in picture quality, from original tape to final master.
