When I arrived at the lookout above Spider Rock several other people were there
to watch the sunset. But once shadow reached the base of this 800 foot spire of
rock, I was pretty much left alone, other than one family
sans
cameras. I didn't quite make it to the moonrise, but it was long after sunset
before I finally left in the dark.
