![]() John Serro from PA began the legacy of the classic Serro Scotty Campers ! " Travel Right, Travel Light, The Scotty Way !! " John was the first manufacturer to develop a campground exclusively for his trailers ! 1962:
John opened a campground in
Rockland
PA. (at his home site) exclusively
for Scotty owners. It was called " Scottyland
USA " and still can be visited today. Many great rallies were held
there, in
fact, thousands attended the late summer rally every year. They
included fun activities all weekend, meals, dances, games, etc. which
was topped off with a Miss Scottyland Pageant and parade. Each year had
a theme and the Scotty owners always out-did themselves. Another added
bonus to owning a Scotty was the Serro Scotty Owners Association.
(SSOA). These were owners clubs in every state. You could join and get
together with Scotty owners in your area. John even put out a
newsletter for the group, called the Scotty Trails. If you ever see a
Scotty with numbers on the front & back, the letters were the
State, the first numbers were the chapter and the last numbers were the
assigned number of that trailer in the club. I fondly remember John
Serro and his lovely wife Anna coming in their 13 foot highlander to
our Chapter campouts.
1963:

Introduction of a new 15 foot
model known as the "Split Level Hi-Lander".
![]() 1966:
A 17 1/2 foot fiberglass model,
called the Royal Scot was created and
advertised. They were very much top of the line and full of extras. A
Group was formed for owners of these beauties called "The Royal Scots".
At this time, the front kitchen Tonga, was introduced in the 13 foot
model. Here is a picture of the ROYAL SCOT: Compliments of

1947, Page Foam Cushioned Products, then named C. H. Page Bedding
Company, was started
by Cloyd H. Page in partnership with two other gentlemen. The original
factory was located in the Hornerstown area of Johnstown, PA and
employed approximately 12 people.
During
the 1950s and
1960s, C. H. Page Bedding manufactured mattresses for Ther-A-Pedic,
and later for Spring Air. By having name brand recognition, the company
was
able to sustain sales growth, increase production, and add employees to
accommodate the increasing need for products. In 1966, Cloyd and his
partners dissolved the original C. H. Page
Bedding Company and he started a new company called Page Foam Cushioned
Products Company. Located in another building in the Hornerstown area,
his focus was manufacturing foam cushions and mattresses for the
recreational vehicle industry and to supply mattresses to camps,
nursing homes, and colleges. Page
Foam Cushioned Products first RV account was Serro Scotty located
in
Irwin, PA. The Page Foam Cushioned Products Company is still in
business today.
