ROOF
SEAMS AND VENTS
ON YOUR VINTAGE CAMPER This
is some
information on the roof seams and vent on vintage campers.
You should check them from time to time.
Visually looking at the seams may not tell you that they are leaking,
so you should look at the ceiling and walls for signs of leaks as
well. Look inside the cabinets as you may not think you have a
leak but just didn't see it inside here.
KOOL
SEAL ROOF SEALER
Wash
the roof really good and
let it dry completely, Then brush on one heavy coat across seams, let
that dry very good, Then roll two coats over the
whole roof, letting each coat dry very well. Because of dings and
dents up there,
from what ever falls from
the sky over nearly 40 years, there may be pin holes
in the skin, so to be safe coat the whole roof. Kool Seal, an
Elastomeric Roof Coating, may be found at Home Depot
for about $30 a gallon. Also, available at :
CAMPING WORLD
