Removing small dents like those from hail by using dry ice has been discussed a couple of times.  Some members have said it has to be done on a hot day.  The ideas is to hold the dry ice over the dent for a period of time and the metal will contract to remove the dent?  At this time no member I know of has tried it, but a couple say they are going to, so if they do I will post the results.  This is the web site that has been referenced with info about REMOVE DENT using the dry ice.  There is a video there showing how it is done.  I don't have the latest version of the Flash player, so couldn't watch the video(older computer)  Here are some remarks made by a few people:

RECONBOB said: "I applied this technique as shown with force for a sustained period of time. While it pulls some of the dent out, it does NOT pull it out completely. Not good enough to pass as shop work. NO CIGAR"

HITMAN600 said:  "this harms both the paint and the metal the dent is a place where metal is stretched in some way using that method u cause the metal to shrink for a moment and after that the metal stays under pressure ... btw don't u guys know anything about metal expanding and shrinking due to the heat ?"

BILLY DOLE  said:  "I bought some dry ice at Baskin Robbins today and rubbed it around on the dent on my car for about 5 minutes. Nothing happened. Other than wasting time and getting some cold fingers, not a thing changed.
Fake!!!"

There are a lot of comments made, which you can goto the web site and read and also view the video and then make your own decision as to if it really works, is it worth the effort/expense and does it hurt the metal?

As I previously stated, I will update if any members try's it and what they have to say.  MYTH  OR  TRUTH ?
