These 16 additional planes bring the total 17-30A production to 767 units.
Notes: It is believed, but not completely verified, that the 1973 mid-year improvements occurred; on the -30A with s/n 30515, on the -31A with s/n 32-103, and on the -31ATC with s/n 31047. It is reasonably certain that 'at least' the fuel system redesign occurred at these numbers. Aircraft 30498 was probably the prototype for the improved fuel system. If you own a Viking that falls near these numbers and you can add some clarification to this 'gray area'...I'd like to hear from you!
Additional Note: From 1973 onward, serial numbers are prefixed by the year (i.e. 73-30487).
Still more Notes: Similar to the automotive industry, these are 'model years', and not necessarily build years. For example, my personal ride was the first 1978 30A, but it was flight tested and signed off in November 1977.
