Brian Alley writes: "N14798 is a 1974 17-30A owned by Earl W. Gault. It is equipped with dual KX-170B's. ADF, DME and transponder complete the Silver Crown package along with a coupled Century IIB autopilot. I began my love affair with the jewel of G.M. Bellanca's stable back in 1983! With a fresh new private pilot's ticket in my pocket I often spent hours walking the flight line at Apple Valley, CA. There was a yellow 68 tied down that caught my attention. I admired this Viking for three long years but never met the owner. I returned to West Virginia in 1986 and discovered that my step father had purchased this beautiful Viking. My first flight sold me on the design and now after more than 100 hours at the controls I just need to figure out how I'm going to buy it when he's done with it."
