Craig Schwab writes: "I have wanted a Viking since 1973, in fact I have kept a 1973 Flying magazine article on the Viking all these years. A few years ago I started looking at several Vikings around the country before I found this 73 17-30A (#30527) at my local airport. When I saw it had 740 TT about 130 SMOH overhauled by Continental. It had a new interior installed in 1992 and was re-striped in yellow and black Imron. A small picture of the aircraft was in a February '92 Plane and Pilot magazine article on Vikings. After I bought it, I immediately had installed a PS Engineering 7000S Stereo interphone with 4-place jacks, dual push-to-talks, and music input jacks. Since then, I have installed the Air-Wolf oil filter mod and a JPI 700 engine analyzer. I also had the prop balanced-it was already smooth, but it helped a bit. I have found this to be a great looking and great flying airplane, and I know of no other plane that has such stability and maneuverability. As it's been said about Bellancas, "After flying one, you'll throw rocks at other planes."
