This Viking is based at Skypark Airport in Wadsworth, Ohio (15G)
Nose wheel doors and flush wingtip lights are just a couple of 39V's mods!
Michael writes; "N6639V, Serial No. 30298 is a 1970 Model 17-30A with 1,810 hours total and 85 hours since an extensive "firewall forward" overhaul by Carter. Acquired in 1997, I have already added a JPI analyzer, Gami injector nozzles, spin-on oil filter, high speed gear doors and flush wing tips, along with various other improvements. The lower cowl speed mod was already done when I purchased the plane. The wing tip mod took me what seemed like forever. Halfway through I wished I hadn't started it. But now that its complete, they are beautiful and I have forgotten all the work."
"With the excellent Carter overhaul, the Gami injectors and the prop balanced (it really didn't need it), the engine is as smooth as a turbine and the fuel burn is significantly lower. She's quite fast, as a result of the clean-up but I don't push her too hard."
"It has dual MK 12D's along with the other typical avionics but I have ordered and am impatiently waiting for delivery of the new Garmin GNS 430 color GPS."

"The aircraft is based at Skypark Airport (15G) in Wadsworth, Ohio, the same base as Jim Howell's fine Viking featured as Miss November, 1998. Skypark is a busy airport community with single family homes and condo hangars (I'm a real estate lawyer), and is home to about 125 aircraft, including five Bellancas. I also own a mint 1956 Cessna 170B with all the mods including center stacked King package."
