Dan Coulter has more than 30 years experience in broadcasting, video
production and public relations, including a serving as weatherman,
interview host and commercial talent for television station KQTV in St. Joseph,
Missouri.
After spending five years in educational television, Dan joined AT&T
as a television writer/producer/director. While at AT&T, Dan
wrote, produced and directed a number of videos in the popular
internal series, "Pete Muldoon Coffee Breaks." The
AT&T Muldoon series was composed of short comedy segments that were
played before and after meeting breaks to get attendees back in their
seats on time. They proved so popular that AT&T's television
group was able to sell them internally across the company to fund
other projects. Dan received a "Golden Reel of Excellence" from
the International Television Association for his work on the series.
Coulter Video's
"Comedy Meeting Breaks" are based on the same proven model of getting
people back in their seats on time when meetings are due to resume.
During his 17-year
career at AT&T, Dan held a variety of positions in television
production, public relations,
media relations and employee communications -- and gained extensive
experience planning and running meetings.
After leaving AT&T, Dan served as a media relations director for
Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs, producing video segments that
helped place positive stories about the company on networks such as
CNN and CNBC. Dan later served as vice president of
communications for Global Crossing. After operating Coulter
Video as a part-time business for 3 years, Dan left corporate
life in 2003 and moved to Winston-Salem, N.C. to run Coulter Video full-time
with his wife, Julie.
Julie worked as a
designer and office space planner for South Central Bell and then AT&T
before devoting her time to raising her children and advocating for
people with special needs. In addition to her special needs
advocacy work, Julie served on the local school board while living in
New Jersey.
Dan graduated with honors from the University of Missouri with a B.A.
in Speech (Radio/TV/Film) and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Julie graduated cum
laude from Judson College with a B.A. in Interior Design.
Dan has narrated a
number of Coulter Video's productions, including Manners for the
Real World - Basic Social Skills, which drew this review from
the national
SCHOOL
LIBRARY JOURNAL:
"An engaging narrator, wry humor, and an abundance of both positive
and negative examples make this refreshingly quirky live-action film
the ideal vehicle for conveying the usually dry subject matter. Its
instructional objectives are clearly outlined and amusingly met
through nine stand-alone segments, each followed by a captioned
review…"
