The Founder
"Detroit's Abandoned, Abused, and Homeless"
God had burned the vision of Victory House deep within Pastor's heart. Without a vision, the people will perish. Pastor Mel has had many highs and lows in his life and had at times been a homeless person himself. Tragedy after tragedy brought him to a real low in his life when he finally surrendered totally to the call of God on His life.
Since then, the Lord had done miracle after miracle in his life. Together, with his wife, Bonnie, they have worked in the inner city of Detroit. Pastor Mel worked heavily in the Michigan prison system, especially at the Standish Maximum Security Facility. The foundations that He laid in the lives of so many is countless.
In the midst of all God's provisions, there have also been plenty of battles. For about 3 years, Pastor Mel fought some real physical problems. At one point, he thought he was leaving this earth very soon. But to the amazement of doctors, and with God's healing power, a lot of small miracles and much perseverance, he come through and continued to press on. Then suddenly and unexpectedly, on January 26, 2007, his work here on earth ended. But the seeds that he had planted in our hearts and lives will live on and grow for the glory and honor of our Lord Jesus Christ.
