Canadian National Anthem

O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

I would like to extend a warm welcome and a big hug  (((((( cyberspace hug ))))))
to the students of Maple Grove Jr. High School.  I would also like to say, that
I am delighted  and proud, that the youth, who are the ones that will continue long
after many of us are gone, are taking an interest to learn and educate themselves in these matters.. YOU, dear students, WILL BE the ones responsible for the future decision making as to how things will be run or not run.. Laws that should be implemented or adjusted.. And so on.. So YOU ALL are to be commended..
I applaud you all. And to a very special lady, Susie Riordon,  a VERY SPECIAL  "Thank You"... She has been working so hard in getting the word out about Gulf War Illness and the treatment to our Veterans who now are sick and need OUR help...
Thank you dear lady for all your efforts.. We may have many miles between us, but with the aide of technology and computers, we are but a click of an on/off switch away.

Please feel free to visit the many rooms here at the VetCenter. I would like to suggest along with visiting the news and resource rooms, that you also take time to read and "listen"  to the many comments voiced here by the veterans themselves, along with
the many family members and spouses who have also shared their feelings as well.
Giving us an insight and a better understanding of just how the "aftermath" of war
affects us all..

Well, kids, I've stocked the fridge, and pantries.. Plenty of chips, and munchies..
Help yourselves.. and please feel free to sign the special guest book below..
You may also correspond with those that have left an address to contact them by.
If you have questions, feel free to ask..  If you have comments, feel free to express them..  You can write me personally, at DStormMom@aol.com  or submit them below and they will be posted to a separate page..

Well, I won't hold you up ... I know your anxious to get started..  Please feel free to visit us as often as you like.... To start you off, I'm placing below  the link to the Canada Room  as I am sure you will want to make your first stop there..  :)

MAPLE GROVE HIGH SCHOOL
MEMORIAL CLUB

"BULLETIN BOARD"

"INTRODUCTORY  LETTER
FROM MEMORIAL CLUB'S PRESIDENT
"

 05-05-98

From: sascha@auracom.com (Sascha Veinot)
To: DStormMom@aol.com

Hello DStormMom!

My name is Sascha Veinot, I am the president of the Maple Grove Memorial Club
I am sorry for not getting in touch with you sooner. Life has been busy lately. I have toured your website recently and I enjoyed it greatly. I found it extremely eye-opening.

What this first letter is mainly going to be is an introduction to what the Memorial Club is all about. Here I go...

The Memorial Club of Maple Grove Education Centre stands for peace, bilingualism, respect for your fellow person, support those who fought for our freedom, remembering those who died for our country and Canadian spirit.

Our club motto is "Proud Canadians Do Proud Things!"

The aims of our club are to create in people an awareness of the importance of being a Canadian, to teach that all people are equal regardless of race, creed, religion, or sex. We stride to mantain a support for our veterans who have served Canada during times of peace and war, and to keep people aware of the importance of Remembrance Day; the sacrifices that the veterans made for us and to always honor our war dead by wearing a poppy.

We voluntaryily participate in community events, especially those which help promote Canadian Unity, community spirit, love of your fellow person, respect for veterans and seniors, and the reputation of Maple Grove School.

Here is a copy of our pledge which is read at each and every meeting:

As a member of the Maple Grove Memorial Club

  •  I pledge to honor my god
  • I pledge to uphold family values
  • I pledge to stand with respect during my nation anthem
  • I pledge to serve my country and keep Canada one nation
  • I pledge to promote equality for all people
  • I pledge to serve and respect our veterans and senior citizens
  • I pledge to remember our war dead
  • I pledge to keep Remembrance Day and day of honor.

*special note* A pledge only has true meaning when a person lives the words in their everyday life, otherwise they are just a bunch of words with no meaning at all. Put your pledge into action.

That pretty much says it all. I kind of compacted as much as I could get in there. If there's anything that you're wondering (something you want to know, explained, anything) just let me know and I'll surely answer. And promptly too.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Sascha Veinot
