I hope this writing is as meaningful
and profound to you as it has been for me... It gave me hope when
things seemed so bleak. It can do the same for you.
ON HIS PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE
"Everyone longs to give themselves
completely to someone -- to have a deep soul relationship with another;
to be loved thoroughly and exclusively; but God, to a Christian, says:
"No, not until you're satisfied, fulfilled and content with being
loved by Me alone; with giving yourself totally and unreservedly to
me; to having an intensely personal relationship with me alone; discovering
that only in Me is your satisfaction to be planned for you.
You will never be united with another until you are united with Me
-- exclusive of anyone or anything else, exclusive of any other desires
or longings. I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow
Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing, one that you cannot
imagine. I want you to have the best. Please allow me to bring it
to you. You just keep watching Me, expecting the greatest things.
Keep experiencing the satisfaction that I Am. Keep listening and learning
the things I tell you.
You just wait. That's all.
Don't be anxious; don't worry.
Don't look around at the things that others have gotten or that I've
given them. Don't look at the things you think you want. You just
keep looking off and away up to Me, or you'll miss what I want to
show you. And then, when you're ready, I'll surprise you with a love
far more wonderful than any you would ever dream of.
You see, until you are ready, and until the one I have for you is
ready (for I am working even at this moment to have both of you ready
at the same time), until you are both satisfied and exclusively with
me and the life I prepared for you, you won't be able to experience
the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me, and thus the
perfect love.
And, dear one, I want you to
see, in the flesh, a picture of your everlasting union of beauty,
perfection and love that I offer you with Myself. Know that I love
you utterly. I AM. Believe it and be satisfied.

A copy of this
essay was given to me by my friend, Laura, back around 1991. She had
written it by hand in a book she got in college in 1978. She jotted
it on a page that had just nough room for it. She didn't know who the
author was, nor can I find a record of the author. She just said that
it was something that was being passed around the student union at the
time. I also believe that people come into your life to give you just
what you need at any given time.
Laura also told me that she wrote three Bible verses by the essay. One
said basically what the essay is saying. If you are interested, read
Matthew 6:25-34. It tells us that God takes care of our needs and that
we should not worry.
(The above essay was read
at our wedding because it seemed to be the story of our love. It was
very moving.)

Epilogue:
A Personal Note from Me...
Going through a trauma such
as death or divorce has a profound effect on a person's life. I think
that divorce (even more than death) causes you to look at yourself
and the life you have lived and reevaluate it. My faith was renewed
when God took care of me in many ways after my marriage ended. I worried
about living on my one income, about being able to keep my home, about
the outcome of the divorce settlement, and about how I could live
alone since I had never been on my own before. I worried that I would
never have anyone who would love me because my husband had told me
that I was unlovable, and would never get married again. In each case,
God took care of me. My spirituality grew, and I came to rely on God
more and more to be in charge of my life rather than my trying to
control it myself.
When I ran across this essay, I was so meaningful and so profound
that I posted it where I could see it every day. I felt that I had
to reach a place in my life where God was the most important person...
even more important than a husband. I no longer trusted men, so I
doubted that I would ever get married again, not to mention what my
first husband had told me.
Each time I read the essay, it was as if God was speaking to me personally.
I came to believe that He was making me a promise that would be fulfilled
when I was ready, and when the other person was ready, also. I had
to have faith that in God's time it would really happen. It gave me
great peace.
When Vern came into my life, I knew he was the right one for me. When
it is right, there are no doubts. You don't have to compromise who
you are, nor do you have to compromise your values. You are accepted
and loved for who and what you are. Everything falls into place as
if it were meant to be. There are no obvious problems in the relationship.
Things felt "right" from the beginning and there were no
red flags. He never did hurt me, and never has. If you get into a
relationship in which you are constantly trying to please, trying
to make it work, being hurt by that person, trying to hold on to the
person, trying to make yourself into someone you think he will like,
he isn't the right person for you. He isn't the one God is preparing
you for. Trust the process of healing and being loved by God. Don't
trouble yourself over others until the time is right. Don't get into
relationships with others who make you doubt their feelings or their
commitment. When it is right, you will know it.
I still believe that it is important to pray for God to lead you to
becoming the person you were meant to be in your life. We should always
strive to grow and become better. It is a life-long journey. I believe
it is important to put your life in God's hands, and ask for His guidance
and direction along your journey. I believe that it is import to pray
for God to bring into your life the person you are meant to be with.
There might be many people who come into your life, and you may go
through some wrong relationships before the right one comes along.
You learn from those relationships, and you become a better person.
When the time is right, if you put your faith in God, the right person
for you will come into your life and you will be fulfilled.
