I was born in New Jersey. My mother and three sisters still live there. My brother, Stephen, lives in Durham, North Carolina.

I now live in Madison, Wisconsin with my wonderful husband, Tom (aka JT, John Thomas) Young. I work at the UW's Fundus Photograph Reading Center.

I am very proud of my children , Jon and Sarah Bownds and my stepchildren, Jason and Tom Young..
