Country Music

Although born and raised in Nashville, I'm not quite the rabid country music fan as you might think. It's just always been here for me. My maternal grandfather was a musician. His wife, my grandmother, ran a "tourist home" (that's an old-fashioned name for a "Bread and Breakfast"). During the early days of the GrandOle Opry many of the performers stayed at her place. One of my earlies memories was sitting at the feet of Pee Wee King, who wrote the Tennessee Waltz, while he played his accordion and sang. During my dating years, I went to Tootsie's Orchid Lounge many times and met a number of the performers. However, I've only been to the Grand Ole Opry about five times. I like all music, but country music really fascinates me. There are some music links below. If you notice one particular very popular name not mentioned; yes, it was intentional. Any performer who crashes a guitar over his knee at the end of performance when there are children everywhere wishing for one doesn't IMO desrve a mention, anywhere.
