My Black 11 1/2" Fashion Dolls

My first black doll was the Bob Mackie Barbie Starlight Splendor that I purchased when she came out in 1990. This started me on Barbie Collecting as well as black doll collecting. I don't collect all black dolls, but only the ones that seem to speak to me. I may see a face, hair color or costume that I just love and then I add the doll to my collection. Here are some of my 11.5" black dolls from Barbie and Fashion Royalty and others.

Here are two black Barbie dolls that I love because of the combination of their skin color and hair colors. On the left is an unknown pink box play doll but she has striking coral lips and lovely wavy shoulder length hair. She is dressed in a Classique Collection costume from 1994 and Golden Dream Christie from 1981

The Afro American version of BBI Toys Perfect Body dolls. These are 12" fully articulated dolls with very muscular bodies. I have slightly enhanced her eyes.

A group of tan skin dolls from Japan, including two Black Liccas, a dark tan photogenic Jenny, Jenny friend Valerie, Volks tan Elegant body Megu, and a couple of custom volks dolls with tan Takara bodies.
