I took this photograph in 1998. This was another lucky find. As US 6 leaves Grand Junction, Colorado it parallels I-70 for a few miles before multiplexing with I-70. At this point where US 6 and I-70 join in Mack, there are multiple large warning signs saying that the old US 6 alignment ends ahead. Much to my wife's dismay, I chose to ignore the warning signs and continue down the old alignment for another 20 miles or so, getting back on I-70 in Utah (although I did have to follow a dirt road for a short time). At the state line, I found this old marker. This is the picture of the road with the marker.
