PROJECT: T-SHIRTS FOR THE TROOPS In May 2007, 200 of our Horsemen were deployed. We received pledges for 200 shirts, and the order was placed. ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Wednesday, August 15, 2007 Subject: Red Horse support To the folks that were likely involved in this mission of support for the deployed 557 Expeditionary Red Horse Squadron. I just wanted to make sure that you knew that your gesture of support was extremely appreciated and well received by all. Great shirts! Hopefully MSgt Duggan will share with you some of the photos he took here at FOB Hammer with some of the troops enjoying their shirts. The shirts were given out as part of our commander's call yesterday. MSgt Duggan let me know how this all came about, and let me just say you guys were amazing in your show of support. I am the Red Horse physician for this deployment and the attached physician at Nellis AFB for the 820th there. The base you sent these wonderful t-shirts to has been immeasurably improved to help support the fight for the Soldiers, Airman, Sailors by the sweat, blood, and tears that have been provided day and night by the fabulous Redhorse men and women that are located here. This is by far the most austere site of any of the deployed sites we are at. The group as at anywhere from 8-12 sites at once. Reading your missives about your prior experience, I can tell I will have the same longing for the hard work ethic and the wonderful fellowship that I have been blessed to experience so far during our 4 months here. I truly believe that Redhorse folks are imbued with something different. If nothing else they are special in my heart and will always be... All thank you for the well wishes, prayers, and continued support. Thanks again for the shirts and notes, God bless you, and hope to see you soon. Take care, Ronald Khoury, MD Capt, MC, USAF ----------------------------------------------- 20 July The boxes of shirts have been received by MSgt John Duggan, in Iraq !!!!!!!! ---------------------------------------- 6 July The full shipment, 200 shirts, was shipped to Iraq, this morning !!!!! ************** Redhorse deployed. PROJECT: SHIRTS FOR TROOPS Donating the cost of a shirt(s), or any cash donation, for the deployed Redhorse that asked for them, (see email below) We don't think they should have to pay for them ! Whichever unit you were (or are) in, there's been Redhorse "Pride", for 42 years. Pass that pride on to our troops. It's not so much about T-shirts, but to let our troops know we care enough, to send them something that they want ! ************* Your fellow Horsemen, families and friends, got those shirts for you, John !!!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: John D. I have shown/asked a number of folks the design and they all want shirts to carry on the heritage we all share. Unfortunately, we were still training in the field and missed the deadline, and now departing for the AOR. Is there any way we can still get in on the deal? We are all as dedicated to the 555 as our retired brothers and sisters and would like to show who we are, where we've been, and where we will go. I am requesting an address, cost amount, or any info you can provide. Thank You. TO THE HORSE!!! Msgt John Duggan
