Toward A More Effective United Nations
- A Conversation. -

We are in the process of developing a set of blogs [short for "Web-Logs"] that are intended to facilitate conversation and networking by people throughout our global community as part of a process for moving toward a vision of "a world that works for everyone." This is an experiment that we think consistent with that purpose. For all those who are interested in this conversation, here follow some web links. We will be interested in your thoughts, and, if you are so moved, your comments on one or more of the blogs.

And we may even be able to get a conversation going about the kind of world we want and what we can do to move in that direction. (Bill Gellermann, September 2006).

(Based on The European Dream by Jeremy Rifkin).

This last blog ends with these words: "I hope this will be helpful as introduction to a conversation about our visions for our global community. What are your views? [Remember, the purpose of these blogs is to encourage "dialogue" (to achieve mutual understanding of our different views) and "skillful discussion" (to collaborate in exploring differences and, when appropriate, reaching decisions) rather than debate over whose views are "right" and whose are "wrong." Ideally we can collaborate in creating a shared vision of "a world that works for everyone." And with that vision to guide us, we can work together in creating that world].
