A book written by Walter Warder, 1934 - WARDER FAMILY in Virginia, Kentucky and Illinois was used by many people to find the ancestor of Joseph Warder.  In the past two years, it has been brought to my attention that extensive research into the Warders of Maryland has proven otherwise.  Everett Littlefield and Sharon Combs Natoli are the two who have done so much work.  You can also leave queries at the Warder Genforum site.   (go to W surnames, then Warder)

John Warder and wife Margery were in service and transported to Charles Co., MD in 1671.  In 1673, John and wife Margery and son William had property deeded to them.  In 1712, a Mary Warder deed gifts to her son William Warder. 

In 1735 William Warder was deeded land named "Lumber Street" from Samuel Chunn and that same year he was a testator to John Fairfax's will.  (John Fairfax spouse was Mary Scott).  (all of the above from Everett and Sharon)

The book of Walter Warder's, 1934, states that Sir Phillip Warder married Mary Fairfax - yet Everett and Sharon have proven that William Warder married Mary Fairfax, daughter of John Fairfax and Mary Scott.  William and Mary Fairfax Warder are buried Nanjemony Baptist Church Cemetery, Charles Co., MD.

*  ii.  Joseph, b. 1751 in Charles Co., MD and d. 1809 in Barren Co., KY, - he moved from Fauquier Co., VA in 1807 after serving in the American Revolution in 1779 in Charles Co., MD.  He m. Esther Ford in Fauquier Co. and had: 

1. Rev. John Warder (who m. 1st. Ann Elliott and 2nd Kezia Renick and that is the connection between the Warders and myself)

The Fairfax Family - John, b. ca. 1690 in Charles Co., MD, d. 1735 in MD and m. Mary Scott, dau. of Edward Scott in MD.  She b. Baltimore Co., MD and had one known brother, William.

The Shotwell Family - John Shotwell, b. 1727, m. Anna ?? and d. 1757 in Middlesex Co., NJ - had Mary and John.  Mary m. David Morris (see Ambrose Shotwell's ANNALS OF OUR COLONIAL ANCESTORS) and John m. Abigail Shipman, dau. of Jabez Shipman and Phoebe Rogers in NJ - children Lydia  and  Jabez.  Jabez m. Elizabeth Elliott Warder, dau. of John and Ann Elliott Warder, 1818 in Barren Co., KY.   Their daughter, Esther Ann m. Luther Fairfax Warder, son of Rev. John Warder and Ann Elliott (cousins marrying cousins again) and had Luther Jr. who m. Maria Ynez Sanchez in Mora Co., NM.

The Sanchez Family - Juan Franco Sanchez, m. Maria Apolonia Martin, in San Ysidro ca. 1796 and had: 1) Juan de Jesus Sanchez, b. 1797; 2) Joan de Jesus Sanchez; 3) Jose Ramon Sanchez; 4) Maria de las Dolores Sanchez; 5) Maria Eulogia Sanchez; 6) Manuel Antonio Sanchez.

Manuel Antonio Sanchez m. Maria Concepcion Mondragon, dau. of Pablo Mondragon & Maria Dolores Cordova, 1824 in Santa Cruz, NM Terr. and had 1) Felipe Sanchez; 2) Maria Juana Sanchez; 3) Antonio Sanchez; 4) Cosme Sanchez; 5) Mariz Ynez Sanchez; 6) Don Sanchez; 7) Sebonia Sanchez.
