An Old Hurricane...
Storms have life cycles, just like people. The previous picture showed a young storm - here's a picture of an old one. This is Hurricane Kate in November 1985. Right now we are about 120 miles south of Panama City, Florida. You can tell that this storm is old because it's somewhat flat and low. The actual center is cloudy (the left wing of the plane is pointing at it). There are alot of "scud clouds" around. It just looks tired, doesn't it? However, don't count this one out. You can still see banding down below, and the eyewall in the distance looks like it could still knock us around.
