Working collaboratively all their lives, they defy categorization by effectively working in many disciplines such as sculpture, painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, theatre arts, video/animation, and computer graphics. They love all media, and magic is one of their “canvases” for creative expression. The Senft’s conceptual approach to art and design can be seen in their magic, and conversely, their fascination with the methodology and art of illusion is often reflected in their art. Their artistic background fuels their thoughtful experimentations in magic which are first and foremost about creativity and a persistent search for fresh, innovative ideas. Their art can be inspired by specific illusions, convey a feeling of mystery, or be an illusion itself by inviting the perceivers to interact and participate with the art. The Senft’s work has received many awards and honors and has been exhibited in museums, galleries, private collections, and featured in print and on television over the last two decades. Jason and Justin Senft graduated with honors from Syracuse University’s College of Visual & Performing Arts, School of Art & Design earning Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Communications Design.
