...for our Candidates?
Because it would be a conflict of interest, we do not accept any payment of any kind from candidates. As much as we would enjoy serving as a ‘talent agent’ for a super-star, the reality is that you can not ethically serve the interests of the employer if you have any financial interest in a particular candidate. Key to the objectivity of good search work is to be truly independent of any obligations or relationships outside those already in place with any given client. We do not pro-actively represent candidates in the market, that is we “pull” talent at the very specific request of a client, we do not “push” talent on a client. There are recruiters who specialize in pro-actively marketing a candidate, in terms of presenting a candidate to a client or a prospect with whom there is not a specific search agreement in place. This is typically done on a ‘contingent fee’ basis, and it is important that the candidate agree in advance to be presented, as there is an implied fee associated with the hiring of the candidate. On those rare occasions where we do proactively present a candidate, unsolicited by a client, we typically do so strictly on a professional courtesy basis. We are also more than happy to refer a superbly qualified executive internally within our small search firm roundtable of executive recruiters – again with no financial interest implicit or otherwise.
As a retained executive search firm, we treat all
information provided by current and prospective clients and candidates in strictest confidence.
