On January 16th, 1999, we released our debut CD Trailer Pop (Beatromp label). Trailer Pop contains 11 original, catchy pop songs complete with chiming guitars, infectious riffs and a layer of grit, and just a twinge of Okie twang. These quirky tunes deal poignantly with a variety of issues and topics from everyday survival ( Poverty Line), and lust—plain and simple ( Enough About the Weather) , to current political plagues ( A Way, Bras On Fire). Shopageddon describes the socioeconomic, pathological desires of a chronic shopper tailgating her way to the mall. Could'a Been offers an optimistic view of new love, while More...grapples subtly with the theme of institutional and bureaucratic largess and mendacity. Other Trailer Pop titles/songs are: Chaos in Motion, Dancing with Semaphores, Impulsive Words, and The Apartment.

We cut the basic tracks live and did fairly minimal overdubbing. Trailer Pop was engineered and mastered by Martin Halstead (Vile Recordings) at the NOTA World Headquarters. Martin also gets primary production credit. Final digital mastering by Martin Halstead and David Smallwood. The final digital editing was done by David Smallwood.

Why call our first CD Trailer Pop? Well, we are from Oklahoma, a possible trailer capital of the world...
