33. "Nicholas" Bruce Van Dorin ROMAINE. Born 2 Mar 1914 in Camden, New Jersey. Died 3 May 1983 in Whitewater (Snow Creek), Riverside, California. Buried 4 May 1983 in Cremated at Riverside, Calif.,. Occupation: Medic/Policeman/Building Maintenance. aka: Nicholas, Nick, Tony Cato.

Notes:

Legal name (on Birth Certificate) is Bruce Van Dorin, although he never used that name. He always used Nicholas. According to Frank J. Romaine (his brother), and Catherine Romaine (sister-in-law); the name on his birth certificate was a mistake. His first name was supposed to be Nicholas, after his father and his middle name was supposed to be either "Bruce," after his cousin (who was born about the same time) or "Van Dorin" after Bruce's natural father, Mr. Van Dorin. It is unknown how the names ended up like they did.

He also used an alias of Tony Cato for many years (while in Palm Srings, Calif.). Mavis and Nick met in Calif. in about 1936. The whole family (Pauline, Joe & Catherine, Gladys & Miles, Nick and Frank) lived in a small house. (Probably 2622 Medford St., Los Angeles, CA)
