| In this portion of the
website I will attempt to share some of my observations on nature in the field and
elsewhere. I have been keeping a natural history journal since the early 1960's.
Since my initial interest dealt primarily with herpetology, most of the more dated
excerpts pertain to that discipline. As I matured, however, and particularly through
the works of men such as Carl F. Kauffeld, Roy Bedicek, Aldo Leopold, and Roger Tory
Peterson, I became aware that all of nature was just as wondrous as were reptiles and
amphibians. So, even though I have moved on from my total, tunnel-vision fixation
on herps, they still hold a special place in my heart. Any opinions expressed here
are strictly my own. Thanks for reading.
