The Area of The Ring Nebula(M57) in Lyra-C8/ST237 ccd camera @ f3.75; LRGB image 30:10:10:10 min. exposures;
North Canton, Ohio 06/2003 Notes: This is an area of the sky that is often used by visual astronomers
to determine the faintest stars visible in a particular size telescope. This ccd image appears to have
penetrated to about 19th magnitude in about 30 minutes of combined exposure on the 8 inch aperture.The
faintest star visible in the 8 inch Schmidt/Cassegrain under ideal conditions would be about 14th magnitude
or so.The central star in the ring is at about 15th magnitude.* An interesting feature of this fairly
wide shot of the ring is the small spiral galaxy, IC1296, at the lower left of the ring. Mild DDP and
L-R deconvolution were applied. * Brian A. Skiff-Taking Your Telescope to the Limit; Sky and Telescope,
