IC405, The Flaming Star Nebula in Auriga-4.25 inch Newtonian/ST237ccd camera @ f4.1; LRGB image 50:8:8:8
min. exposures; 01/2003 Phoenix, AZ Notes: This wispy nebula is illuminated by the bright star
right of center known as AE Aurigae. This object is nearly a half degree across or nearly the diameter
of the full moon. The scale of this image is about 36 X 27 minutes of arc which is generous for this
imager. Due to the short focal length of this instrument and the size of the imager's pixels the resolution
here is considerably less than that of the C8/ST237 combination. Maximum entropy deconvolution restoration
was used.
