Q  There is a little red arrow at the top and bottom of the page. Why?

A  This keeps the ads that RootsWeb places on your site from encroaching. Without them the ads would get too close to your copy and spoil the effect of your page.


Q  What advantage, if any, would the 4 extra links in the long version have for me?

A  Linking your main surnames makes it easier for browsers to find these names. Also, search engines will pick up those 4 (or more) surnames and list them on their pages. Example: Type "JOHN SMITH" in a search engine and you will be shown all John Smith's listed on that engine.


Q  What if I want more than just four links?

A  You may have more than 4 links. We can add more for $5.00 per link. No limit to the number you may have, but we can only add links to the long version.


Q  What happens if, over time, I add data and make corrections to my genealogy? Do I have to pay the same price to have it upgraded?

A  No, not unless you want a new design too. To upgrade your data to the same design the cost will be as follows:

Short version - $25.00  
Long version - $35.00  
Extra Links - $2.50 each

as all we will have to do is clean your new GEDCOM, change GEDCOM to HTML, check to make sure the links work after the changes you made and upload the new data to the server.  The rest of your page will remain the same.  In fact we recommend upgrading once or twice a year depending on how much change you make to your database.


Q  Do you have any other designs available besides the 14 you have listed?

A  Not at the moment, but we will be adding new designs from time to time. Sometime down the road we will be offering a Photo Album which can be added to your existing web page to display family photo's. We will notify you when it's ready. For the present time one photo is allowed with any long version design at no additional cost.


Q  I noticed there is a link to your web site near the bottom of the pages. Can this be removed?

A  No, it cannot be removed. It's the only way we can offer these web pages for so little cost. This free advertising goes a long way in reducing our advertising expenses and we pass the savings on to you.
