|
Don't Forget to bring!
- Your mountain bike(s) - Duh!
- Tools and gear - This is a SELF-SUPPORTED event! make sure your equipment is functioning and you can fix anything that is likely to break. There are bike shops near each of the rides in case of unexpected breakage.
- Sunscreen - Clear skies and high altitude = LOTS of UV
- Water - Hydrate or Die!
- Food - Eat or be really, really hungry!
- Camping Gear - Bring a tent and sleeping bag or a credit card if you prefer a roof over your head.
- Clothes - We're riding in the Rocky Mountains in October, it will get cold and it can rain, be prepared! Heck it
might even snow already has snowed!
- A Sense of Humor - This is supposed to be fun!
Other Info:
- Altitude: All rides will be at or above 7,000 feet. If you live at a lower altitude you WILL notice a difference in your energy level and endurance when riding. Stay hydrated, get plenty of rest and watch for signs of altitude sickness (headache, nausea, dizziness, some difficulty sleeping, nosebleed).
- Camping: Forest Service and State Park campgrounds are close to The Winsor Trail. Los Alamos camping info is on the Day 2 page. We will have access to an exclusive, private campground near Angel Fire for Saturday and Sunday nights.
- Hotels/Motels/B & B's: All are available in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos and Angel Fire.
- Bike Shops: Ask one of the locals for info on LBS's
- Restaurants: We've got cheap dives, haute cuisine and everything in between. Ask a local and we'll point you to what you want. Beware the green and red chile! If you're not used to hot, get your chile on the side.
Much more info will be available via the email list. Sign up there to get all the info you're likely to need.
