Split Endz
Some notes on where it's at in its gestation

1/1/03 Got the '69 body ready to remove. Hopefully within the next few days the '51 body will be on the irs pan so they can get fitted together. Then it is roll bar and rear structure time.
1/7/03 body switch! major milestone! See the "birth" here
6/14/03 Where is it at now? The last 4 months have had no progress. Before that the engine compartment was finished. The bumper mounts were grafted on allowing the apron to be fitted around a big 1600 based engine. That was not easy. Had to make a small cut out in the apron to clear the 1 3/4" Phoenix header. Roll bar is in and fitted, just about ready to weld it together. Picked up some poly seats for it. have started laying out the dash, it will pretty cool. Basically in the gathering and planning stages still and getting physically fit to work on it again.
4/25/04  Ha! an update!  Pan is ready for the body, the rear suspension is waiting for the car to be at its all up weight so it can be set up the first time. Engine is waiting on heads, less than a month and I should be cutting valve pockets in the pistons. That will mean the trial assembly is done! Then it will come all apart so it can go together once or twice, or maybe 3 more times....  The body is really close to being ready to paint the inside and underneath areas. Then it goes on the pan............

Pretty much all the parts are here, its a big model taking up a lot of space! The ERCOs are pretty kool too.

9/11/04  The wiring is well underway, see some progress here. Also have done a few other items on the split this summer. Engine is now through all its mock-up stages except for the last one, clay the pistons for valve pockets. Also rebuilt the Berg bus box mounts. The engine is now just about centered in the engine compartment. Pix when I take the body back off the pan.
3/13/05  Lots has been happening, both on the split and my health. The health part was a real bummer and has slowed down any and all activities. The split now is wearing a coat of Mouse Gray in its interior and everyplace else but the outside. It is now mounted on the pan, the wiring is about 92%, and lots of details are being worked out. I'll let the pix  tell the story.
