The  Amalgamation of a Split

The foot well area. Visible is at least 4 different car's donor parts.. The heater hole in the left heater channel is to be changed to the correct '51 style as seen on the right side. The vintage's of the graft sections are '51, '55, 52, and '70.

the right side as it's being assembled. Rear quarter is a '55, rear part of heater channel is a '70, front is a '52, '55 continental door. The '70 heater channel will be finished off to be an exactly like a '51. All donor parts are real German rust free parts, not easy to find.but sometimes luck smiles on you.

Yes, it was rusty almost beyound words
piles of poop!
And it had lots of it!

Can you say "Dissected"???
This is after the left side had this done to it! It would have made a great race car body!

More details of the grafting.. I believe I found the right people for this project!!!
. The engine compartment will be built to accommodate a Big Motor and retain the stock look. although there will be later parts involved. Not quite a purist's restoration, but I'm not a purist.. All the fiberglass parts are on their way from Aircooled.Net. The engine is just about fully speced , the last decision is pistons and cylinders, How Big Can I Go??? much better!
Its almost in one piece now. The rear apron, bumper mounts and shelves in the engine compartment will all be done once its on my "69 pan with the engine and exhaust

Split Window Restorations Rocks!!!
Many thanks to Lanny and Tod
