Q: What is The Haunt Factory?

A:   The Haunt Factory is a seasonal special event.  It is a themed, walk-through haunted attraction suitable for all ages and is wheel chair accessible.  See additional questions below for more details.

Q: How long is the haunted house?

A:   It is a self-guided adventure! You explore the factory at your own pace.  It can take 25 minutes or longer to go through the entire factory!

Top

Q: Is it different from last year?

A: The Factory changes every year, from the subtle to the addition of new, large-scale props and spooky gadgets!

Top

Q:  Can I take pictures and record video inside?

A:  No.  Photographs and video won't turn out well in the fog and darkness, and a flash detracts from some of the special effects.

Q: What's this ticket for?

A:  Actually, you don't get a ticket at the event. It's a punch card for the factory.  You'll use it to clock in on the grave yard shift.  Once you do that, you become an honorary member of our 'Skeleton Crew!'

Q: Who does this thing?

A:  The Haunt Factory is designed by Oliver Holler, who has been doing haunted houses since 1983.  A crew of dedicated volunteers bring the Factory to life each year.  It is sponsored by many businesses throughout the community.

Q: Is it scary, or what?

A:  In a word, YES!  The event is designed to deliver solid startles, scares and laughs.  However, the goal is NOT to panic, or upset, it is to entertain!

Top

Q: What about for little kids?

A:  The Haunt Factory is suitable for ALL ages.  It is a haunted house, and it is spooky, but it has only responsible content.  There are no satanic themes and no bloody displays. -But it is scary.

Top

Q: Is Freddy Kruger or Jason or Scream in here?

A:  Nope.  The Haunt Factory is ORIGINAL.  The theme, sets, characters and story are new and unique and can't be seen at any movie theatre, or anywhere else in the world!  It is unlike anything you've ever experienced before!

FYI:  Freddy(tm), Jason(tm), and Scream(tm) are licensed characters and belong to big movie companies.  In order for another business to *legally* use these characters names and images, a fee must be paid to their license holders.

Q: How can it be scary without a chain saw dude/Freddie/etc.???

A:  Instead of relying on gore and violence, The Haunt Factory uses atmosphere, high-tech special effects and jolting surprises.

Top

Q: Will anyone grab me?

A:   No.  Aside from being considered 'poor form' in the industry (and a desperate, last-ditch attempt to try and evoke a response), it is forbidden in The Haunt Factory.  No one will touch you.

Top

Q: Is anybody gonna jump out at me?

A:  You never know what will happen in The Haunt Factory!

Top

Q: What if I get scared and 'punch someone's lights out?'

A:  Curiously, some people use Halloween as an excuse to try and hit someone.  Our factory ghosts don't touch you, so touching them is not allowed.  Video cameras monitor everything throughout the maze.  Any misbehavior will result in immediate removal from the event, and possible legal action.

How the event works, in a nutshell:  You be nice.  We give you a great show.  You scream and have fun!  Happy Halloween!

Q: How long did it take to do this?

A:   Our first haunted attraction was presented in 1983.  Plans for this year began 8 months ago.

Top

Q: Who does this benefit?

A:   You! The Haunt Factory's primary goal is to provide the community with a unique, safe, supervised event for children and their families to enjoy throughout the Halloween season.  With the public's support, the event has been able to perpetuate itself with admissions helping cover operational expenses.  (Insurance, electricity, make-up, costumes, fog machines, lasers, etc. aren't free, you know!)  In addition, the event is proud to benefit different partner charities each year.  We believe everyone has something to contribute to a greater cause.

Top

Q: How many people can go through in one group?

A:   Groups of around 5-8 people may go through together so everyone gets to see everything and have a good time.

Top

Q: What if we don't want to see everything and we don't want a good time? - We just want to go through with all 104 of us at once.

A:   The Fire Marshall's orders will not allow it.  Sorry.

Top

Q: Is this better than 'the haunted house down the road?'

A:   The Haunt Factory is very different from any other haunted attraction.  If you enjoy haunted houses, why not see ALL of them?

Top

Q: How does this one compare?

A:   There is no comparison.    The Haunt Factory is created for all ages to enjoy.  From 3 year olds to senior citizens;  Anyone who enjoys being scared in a safe, fun way.

The Haunt Factory is entirely original and innovative, drawing from professional designers and technicians who volunteer their creativity and talents rather than from pre-existing movies and television programs.  The Haunt Factory relies more on actors, special effects and a haunted atmosphere.

Statistically, average haunted houses commonly threaten patrons with bodily harm and confront them with weapons.  Since our goal is to be unique, we try to avoid stereotypes and deliver something new and different.

Besides, we figure you already have your own chainsaw at home, - but not a 20 foot long "possessed spinning vortex Grinder", or "an out of control freight elevator!"

Top

Q: How long is the wait?

A:   The Haunt Factory is a different kind of haunted house.  There are no tour guides to rush you through and make you hurry.  You're not standing in line and paying to have that happen.  Each group gets their own special show.

It is a self guided adventure, so you set your own pace, and see everything you want to see inside.  Sometimes this means a slightly longer wait on the outside, but everyone agrees that it makes it more enjoyable on the inside.  You're here to enjoy yourself and have a good time and we are here to help make that happen.  Thank you for your patience!  It will be worth the wait!

Top

Q: About how many minutes before we get to go in?

A:   The Haunt Factory has a very efficient design!  Multiple groups can go through in rotation simultaneously!  That keeps the line moving at a steady pace.  We use smaller groups however, so that everyone gets to see all of the special effects and no one gets left out at the end of an oversized group.  The smaller the group, the better the show!

Top

Q: Are we there yet???

A:    'Not much longer, kids!'  Hauntful Hint: Come early in the evening the first two weeks to enjoy shorter lines and repeat visits at a discount!

Another Hint: If you really enjoy waiting in a long line (everybody's different!), show up on the weekend closest to Halloween!
