Sandi and Tyler holding a pie

Sandi is a credentialed teacher in the State of California, and after working for a few years as a Preschool teacher she has decided to stay home to raise our children.

She uses her teaching and musical training to teach the Preschool choir at the church.

As a farmer's daughter, Sandi grew up competing in Grape festivals as a 4-H'er, riding around with her dad in the harvester and living out on the ranch. As part of 4-H and a college handbell choir, Sandi got to travel to various locations in the United States learning about different historical landmarks and playing for different audiences.

After transferring to California Baptist College at Riverside in 1986, she sang with the choral group Rhapsody. As part of Rhapsody, she travelled around the western United States representing the school and inviting new students to come to CBC.

After graduation she studied for and received a teaching credential in elementary education.

Finally her boyfriend had the courage to ask her to marry him and in 1991, she married John Paul Flowers in Lodi California.

He took her away from the farm and brought her to the big city of San Jose, California and moved her into an apartment complex that was on about as much land as her dad's ranch and had 1000 more people in the same space.

Sandi met a woman at John's church that directed a Preschool and Sandi soon started working with four and five year olds. Using her training as a teacher, she taught these children many skills and didn't just babysit them.

When Sandi had Tyler we decided that she could stay at home and raise our family, but her boss missed her so much that every now and then she goes back to substitute teach. It's as much fun for Sandi to be able to go to work and use her skills as it is a job for her.
