Sponsored by the Hampton Roads Li'l Red Express and Warlock Owners Club and hosted by Grafton Dodge in Yorktown, Virginia. June 8, 2007, on a beautiful Friday afternoon, a convoy of specialized Dodge pickup trucks arrived in Newport News, Virginia for the 12th annual Li’l Red Express & Warlock Owners Nationals. Driving in from all over the US and Canada The weekend got off to a great start when club members were welcomed to the home of Skip and Patti Gibbs in Newport News for a club cookout and tail gate party. The cook-out provided an excellent opportunity for club members to mingle and meet members who were there for the first time.

On Saturday, June 9th, at 9:30 a.m. a convoy of Trucks departed the Holiday Inn and suite in Newport News, heading for Grafton Dodge in Yorktown Va. they made a quite an impressive site as they cruised north on Rt. 17. The show was open to the public and included music, give-away prizes and a automotive parts and memorabilia auction to support the Lions Club Eye Bank. There were 26 trucks entered in this years show and club members raise $1000.00 dollars for the Lions Club Eye Bank.
The show ended at 3:00 PM.

After the show members cruised back to the Holiday Inn to relax until 6:30 PM for the awards presentation. On a special note, Greg Willis of Windsor Virginia and also a Lions Club Eye Bank cornea recipient was surprised when it was announced that his truck had placed "Best In Show".

N.A.L.R.E.T.O. (The National Association Of Li'l Red Express Truck Owners) was developed in cooperation with the Hampton Roads Li'l Red Express & Warlock Owners Club and is sanction under its bylaws.   N.A.L.R.E.T.O. was created for the purpose of providing a qualified sanctioning body for the development of a standards of quality and to verify authenticity of the Li'l Red Express Truck.   A subset of this capacity is now set in place to provide certification of re-manufactured restoration parts.

A concours level handbook has also been created to assist owners and manufacturers in assuring complete accuracy in the restoring of the Li'l Red Express Truck and the creation of restoration parts.  The guidelines in this book will help the restorer when restoring their truck to a factory like condition.   It will also assist the manufacturers in improving the quality of restoration parts and the services they provide for the Li'l Red Express Truck Owner.

About Grafton Dodge

Grafton Dodge has served the Virginia Peninsula and surrounding communities from the same location in Yorktown VA. for over 78 years.  It is one of the oldest continually operated Dodge Dealerships in business today.

In 1955 the very first fire pumper to serve the citizens of York County was purchased through funds from a ten-cent fire levy and the proceeds obtained from raffling off a 1954 Dodge Pickup Truck, the volunteers purchased the counties first pumper, a 1955 Dodge / Howe fire engine.  The first fire station used to house the truck was provided by Grafton Dodge, a cinder block attachment constructed on the side of Grafton Dodges service department.  It is now used as the dealerships parts department.

Grafton Dodge was our clubs first truck show sponsor and has continued to support the Li'l Red Express and Warlock Owners Club over the years.

We thank them for their support.   Grafton Dodge ...
