As I watch the setting sun,
I wonder if you had watched too.
Though miles apart,
did we share the beauty?
Did you think of me then
as I am thinking of you hours later?
Did the brilliance and
heat of the colors
remind you of the warmth we share,
deep in our hearts,
whether together or apart?
Did you feel my smile
as you watched that final glow
spread across the water,
thinking of the glow that
courses through me as you
hold me close?
Did you feel my sigh
as the brightness faded
beyond the horizon?
Turning to shades of indigo,
shadows of purple:
My world is turning dark,
as it does when we part.
